Back to Basics is a 2 day workshop that will focus on the essential building blocks for plein air painting. Background Painter and Concept Artist Nic Gregory discovered that plein air painting was key to elevating his understanding of light, color and design, and helped him consistently work in animation and theme park design.
This course will highlight the the key points that all artists should remember when starting a painting. You will then learn the process of building the best foundation possible focussing on such things as:
-Choosing your location
-Designing your layout
-Making color choices
-Using Gouache and pastel
-Examples of different DIY plein air kits
and much more!
Nic is proud to bring his class to the CSG Gallery after successfully teaching at the Walt Disney Family Museum. Both beginners and experienced painters will leave with the confidence to tackle outdoor painting and begin learning the best way possible, painting from life.
