CG Tools and How to Make Your Own Cinematic

CALLING ALL STORYTELLERS: CTN Presents another episode of A Deep Dive into And Around the Edges of CG with Jim Hillin in a lively discussion about Cinematics with:
Gary Trousdale, Story Artist Extraordinaire, Director of "Beauty and the Beast (the original animated version)" and "Hunchback of Notre Dame" and as a Director at Dreamworks Animation - He will be talking about the original definition of "Cinematics."
Chris Edwards, CEO of The Third Floor, the Premiere PreVis studio on the planet!  Chris will be setting up and talking to us about "Modern Cinematics" or the current State-of-the-art for PreVis. Chris will be joining the conversation at 5pm.
Brian Pohl, M&E Technical Account Manager for Epic Games, the company who develops the Unreal Engine for Realtime applications.  Brian will be talking about Modern Cinematics with regards to what Epic Games does and the future we're all going to.
JIM HILLIN got into the nuts and bolts of computer animation in 1984, when the industry was just beginning.  Shortly thereafter, he supervised computer imaging work on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Dinosaur. Today, Jim specializes in live-action visual effects.
In Addition to the films mentioned, Jim has also created Visual Effects for: Robo-Cop2, True Lies,
Apollo13, Aladdin, Strange Days, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Herbie: Fully Loaded, Spider-Man2,
Ghostrider, Spider-Man3, I Am Legend, Beowulf, SpeedRacer, 2012, Priest. Jack, the Giant Killer,
Suicide Squad, CHIPS
 and recently, several Indie films, Home, Birth of a Nation, The Master Cleanse, The Last Face, Beatriz and Dinner, Mainline and Burning Sands.

Hillin is a member of The Academy, The Visual Effects Society, The Animation Guild Local 839, and he has recently joined the faculty of The Syd Field Screenwriting Academy.

Jim Hillin is currently developing a new pipeline for Computer Graphics, and writing his fifteenth screenplay.
